Fans think Selena Gomez's 'Bad Liars' is about the Weeknd
Selena Gomez has dropped her latest single “Bad Liar” and fans are busily attempting to decode the inspiration for the track.
"I was walking down the street the other day trying to distract myself,” she begins. “But then I see your face — oh wait, that's someone else."
- The beat picks up and she continues: “What could possibly happen next? / Can we focus on the love? / Paint my kiss across your chest / Be the art, I'll be the brush.”
- The stripped down, lighthearted song samples The Talking Heads’ 1977 classic “Psycho Killer” and was co-written by Gomez, Julia Michaels and Justin Tranter. (They were also behind “Good for You” and “Hands to Myself,” from her second studio album, Revival.
- When Gomez started teasing the song last week, most fans assumed it was written about ex Justin Bieber. Now that it’s out and the sweet lyrics are revealed, the speculation has turned to her current flame, The Weeknd.
- No matter who it’s about, fans are digging it.
